I get asked about partner codes constantly. Usually the same question: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
No. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code won't affect it.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
How much bonus do you receive?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. That's for serious capital.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
Minimum to open an account is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
Where to enter the code
Registration page. Once you've filled in your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. The field expands. Type **128979**.
Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.
If the system rejects it, don't panic. Complete your registration. Reach out to your account manager first. Ask them to add code 128979. Standard practice for them.
Bonus withdrawal conditions
There's a volume requirement.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus click here means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
The deposit belongs to you. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Something useful to understand: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
